The morning rates were unchanged from the previous day across all five purity categories. The 24K rate remained at AED 505.50 per gram, while 22K gold held at AED 468.00.

At the published benchmark, 10 grams of 24K gold would cost approximately AED 5,055. The equivalent amount of 22K gold would cost AED 4,680 before making charges, retailer premiums and any applicable taxes.

UAE jewellery prices may differ between retailers because the published benchmark covers the underlying gold value per gram. The final purchase price may also include workmanship, design and certification costs.

UAE Gold Prices Recover From Last Week’s Low

Although today’s quotation is unchanged, the short-term trend has improved.

The 24K rate fell to AED 494.00 per gram on October 7 before recovering to AED 505.50. That represents an increase of AED 11.50, or approximately 2.3%, in five days.

The 22K rate similarly rose from AED 457.50 on October 7 to AED 468.00 today. The recovery followed renewed support for international bullion as oil prices eased and investors prepared for this week’s US inflation report.

Spot gold traded above $4,200 per ounce during Monday’s Asian session. Lower oil prices helped reduce some inflation concerns, but high US Treasury yields continue to create resistance for the non-yielding metal.

Gold’s 30-Day Trend Remains Negative

Despite the latest rebound, UAE gold prices remain lower than they were 30 days ago.

The 24K rate declined from AED 524.00 on September 13 to AED 505.50 today. That represents a decrease of AED 18.50 per gram, or approximately 3.5%.

Over the same period:

  • 22K gold declined from AED 485.25 to AED 468.00.
  • 21K gold fell from AED 465.25 to AED 448.75.
  • 18K gold decreased from AED 398.75 to AED 384.75.

The highest 24K rate during the period was AED 527.75 on September 18. Today’s rate is AED 22.25 below that peak, representing a decline of approximately 4.2%.

The 30-day low was AED 494.00 on October 7. The recovery from that level indicates that buying interest returned as international gold stabilized above an important support area.

What Could Move the Gold Rate in UAE Next?

The near-term direction of the gold rate in UAE today and throughout the week will depend primarily on international bullion prices.

The UAE dirham is pegged to the US dollar, meaning local gold prices generally follow changes in dollar-denominated spot gold. The most important drivers this week include:

  • US CPI: September inflation data will be released on October 14 and could affect expectations for another Federal Reserve rate increase.
  • Treasury yields: Higher yields increase the opportunity cost of holding gold, while falling yields generally support bullion.
  • US dollar: A stronger dollar can pressure international gold prices.
  • Oil and geopolitical risk: Energy prices, the Iran conflict and uncertainty surrounding global supply routes remain important inflation and safe-haven factors.
  • Central-bank demand: Continued official-sector purchases may provide longer-term support during price corrections.

A softer US inflation report could weaken yields and allow international gold to extend its rebound, potentially lifting UAE retail rates. A hotter reading could produce renewed pressure and bring the recent local lows back into focus.

For UAE buyers, today’s 24K rate is higher than last week’s low but remains below the levels recorded through much of September. Final jewellery prices will continue to depend on the purity selected, product weight, making charges and individual retailer premiums.
